Hi, In my opinion you need a lot of training before getting an agent. Yes, getting an agent will help you with auditions but will not guarantee you the role. Also when you apply for an agency they have to see a resume first. I myself don’t have an agent yet, I am having about a years worth of experience before I get one. Try to get as much experience as you can before hand even if it is community theatre, or school plays. But if you want to get an agent now it’s your choice. For me, I’m trying to get into one of two agencies in Toronto but that is later on. I know they are legit because we have a website which is called “ACTRA Toronto” which is a union sit for over 15,000 professional film, video and new media performers. Everything on this website is legit, maybe from where you are from they have one too. There are very many scams in Toronto so I suggest you search thoroughly before signing any contract.
