Hey there, so I am also interested in acting, but im so uninformed about it? i know i need an agent but my parents won't allow me to get one until they know they are legit, and can hook me up with auditions? how do i know if this agent is legit? any tips??

Hi, In my opinion you need a lot of training before getting an agent. Yes, getting an agent will help you with auditions but will not guarantee you the role. Also when you apply for an agency they have to see a resume first. I myself don’t have an agent yet, I am having about a years worth of experience before I get one. Try to get as much experience as you can before hand even if it is community theatre, or school plays. But if you want to get an agent now it’s your choice. For me, I’m trying to get into one of two agencies in Toronto but that is later on. I know they are legit because we have a website which is called “ACTRA Toronto” which is a union sit for over 15,000 professional film, video and new media performers. Everything on this website is legit, maybe from where you are from they have one too. There are very many scams in Toronto so I suggest you search thoroughly before signing any contract. Where are you from again? And what”s your name? I’ll be happy to help anytime! And also if you are uninformed about the business I suggest reading books about it or online on legit sites, that is what I do. I hoped I helped you a bit! Message any time!
